MUME Help
CHANGE HEIGHT, CHANGE WIDTH
change height [<height>] change width [<width>] change width <type> default change width <type> terminal change width <type> [max] <width>where <type> is one of
default
,
descriptions
, table
, text
, or
all
.
These commands set the height and width of your screen/terminal window.
Most users do not need to use either of these commands, since nearly all modern clients change the sizes automatically using "Telnet NAWS".
The change width <type> ...
command lets you
fine-tune how wide output is used for the different types of output:
default
|
used for all output not in the groups below |
descriptions
|
descriptions of rooms, objects, and such |
table
|
tabular data |
text
|
help texts, board posts, and similar |
Use all
to change all the types.
You can set the width to one of the following:
default
|
the game default |
terminal
|
use the terminal width |
max <width>
|
use the terminal width, but not more than <width> |
<width>
|
use a fixed width |
Examples:
change width text max 90
|
use up to 90 characters for help texts and similar |
change width all default
|
revert all fields to their defaults |
change width default 100
|
use 100 characters for "other output" |
MUME will in fact use at most one less than the specified width, as some really ancient terminal programs did not work well with text in the rightmost column.
Some users like to override the height to prevent the game from paging the output of shop lists, etc. You can temporarily disable the pager by choosing a height of 65535, but most clients will automatically reset it for you.
