MUME Help
ELROND, HALF ELF, HALF ELVES, HALF-ELF, HALF-ELVES
In the First Age of the Sun, the line of Half-elves commenced with the love
between Lúthien Tinúviel and the Man Beren,
giving rise to their child, Dior. The line would continue, and of it was born
Elwing who married Eärendil the Mariner, also a Half-elf, the son of Idril
and Tuor. Eärendil's sons, Elros and Elrond, faced the crucial choice of
mortality or immortality. Elros chose to be a mortal Man,
ascending as the inaugural king of Númenor. In contrast, Elrond embraced
immortality and founded Rivendell.
MUME Half-elves
In MUME, Half-elves of Sindarin or Silvan heritage are not uncommon. Resembling Men more than Elves, they inherit competence across various classes from their mortal parentage. Their destinies become intertwined with the celestial journey of the Star of Eärendil, guided by Eärendil, a Half-elf whose radiant legacy directs his ship Vingilot, illuminated by a Silmaril. This celestial light keeps their spirits kindled with hope.
- They possess partial immunity to diseases; ailments take only half the usual time to run their course.
- They can cast healing spells at a reduced cost under the light of the Star of Eärendil.
- They exhibit improved combat skills when under the Star of Eärendil.
- Blessed by nature, they receive bonuses to spellcasting and defending against spells, both of which are influenced by their mood.
